  • Skis/poles/boots/ski strap
  • Ice axe
  • Sunglasses/sunscreen
  • Optional trail running shoes for the short 100′ 5.6 rock climb (could be easier than wearing boots up to top)
  • Harness/rope/nuts/small cams/sling (Small to mid-sized cams and nuts and a #3 camalot were all useful)

Itinerary

Sunrise is 5:28 AM, low of 50, high of 66, mostly sunny

  • 5:30 AM – Skinning in (2.5 miles, 2,500 ft gain, 2.5 hrs?)
  • 8:00 AM – Base of Unicorn
  • 9:30 AM – Done climbing, all at top
  • 10:00 AM – Rappelling
  • 10:30 AM – Walk back to skis, transition for downhill
  • 11:00 AM – Ski down
  • 11:30 AM – Transition to skins, 1 mile left
  • 12:00 PM – Back at car
