After climbing Condor, we wanted to try out Solitary Man as a group of 3 with Josh and Alexis.
The route is NOT bolted for rappels (you’re expected to rappel the other route, or walk off the gully). The route just has hangers, no rings/chains.
P1 – 5.10-, 30m, ~9 bolts
Our info claimed this was 5.9, 35 meters, but it definitely felt 5.10-, and it definitely was just under or exactly at 30 meters. Pretty sustained at 5.9/5.10- for a number of moves, very slabby.
P2 – 5.10, 27m, ~8 bolts
Our info claimed this was 5.10-, 30m, but it definitely felt like 5.10 slab at one crux move, and was definitely only 27m. Pretty sustained pitch.
Start of P2 P2 from the anchor
P3-5 – 5.6-8, ~90m
We linked pitches 3-5. I climbed almost to the top of P4 when we started simul’ing together. P3 felt 5.7, P4 was 5.8, and P5 was 5.6.
