We left the car at 5:10 AM in the dark. Partway up, we saw some headlamps up in the valley, but they were oddly spaced apart and there was only one car at the trailhead… later we saw more “lights”, turns out it was just moonlight reflecting off the wet rocks!
We got to the base at 7:35 AM, including an unplanned bathroom break. The first pitch of Beyond Redlining is quite sustained, but with some hunting around you find the delicate foot holds and the right moves. I never fell/took, but I felt like several times I might. Pretty well bolted though. The end of the pitch has a cruxy roof move that was similar to Exfoliation Dome’s Blueberry Buttress.
After that pitch, we decided to bail the route and left a sling bail anchor on two of the bolts, and we went over to Mile High Club.
We started climbing Mile High Club at 10:30 AM. It all went pretty smoothly, but it was a bit more sustained than we remembered. Still got it all cleanly though without too much trouble! The corner pitch went easier than last time. We got to the top before 1:30 PM, so just under 3 hours for 7 pitches.
We started rappelling probably around 1:45 PM, our rope got stuck twice, and we made it back to the car at 6:05 AM (4:20 hours from top to car).
