This weekend was looking rainy, so we figured we should try Silver Peak early in the morning before work! 5 days ago, the road apparently wasn’t super driveable (someone walked 2 miles on the road because of one snowy spot early on). Itinerary
Low 40’s (41-45 degrees), 8mph winds, dawn at 4:33 AM, sunrise 5:13 AM
- 3:00 AM – Leave home
- 4:20 AM – Furthest can drive (Silver Peak Trailhead)
- 4:40 AM – Hiking/skiing up (2.5 miles, 2,100 ft gain, 1:30 hr)
- 6:10 AM – At top of North Bowl, transition to downhill
- 6:30 AM – Ski down (max 45 mins depending on how much walking)
- 7:15 AM – Back at car
- 7:30 AM – Drive home
- 9:00 AM – Home
